Flying Doctor Ground Crew

Join us in making strides for mental health in the bush!

Did you know that remote Australians are twice as likely to die by suicide compared to city people, yet only access mental health services at a fifth of the rate?

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Victoria’s Wellbeing program is working to address that.

The program, titled ‘Flying Doctor Wellbeing’, is a key part of our commitment to bringing high quality health care to people in the bush. It provides vital mental health support specifically for people in rural and remote Victoria, with counselling services available in person (or via telehealth) at no cost.

As a largely donor-funded organisation, supporters are pivotal to our success. The RFDS Ground Crew are a dynamic group of supporters who, through their fundraising efforts, make services like this possible for people living in rural and remote parts of the state.

This year, all funds raised by Run Melbourne competitors on behalf of RFDS Victoria will be going towards Flying Doctor Wellbeing.

Not only will you be raising money for a good cause, you’ll also be contributing to your own health and happiness! Regular exercise can help people reduce stress, improve their mood, increase their energy, sleep better and have a better outlook on life.

So grab your friends and family, and register for Run Melbourne today. You’ll be joining us on July 26 to hit the pavement in support of mental health and wellbeing services in the bush, while also doing something positive for your mental health too.
